Few years ago, the house went quiet. My daughter moved to the south to fulfill her dreams. I was living in a town where I was unknown, lonely in ways I didn’t have words for. I found my love for nature and animals. One hot summer day, a new calf was born, she was beautiful, few days later she was found lying in the pen, tongue out and eyes rolled back, with tears rolling down my cheeks, my heart broke. Something sent me to her to save, take her home and bring her back to life, even though I knew it meant 7 days a week, around the clock for several months. Something in me was determined and sure enough I saved Stella, I brought her back to life, bottle fed her, taught her legs to work again along with her motor skills. Every day we grew closer, she became my best friend. No leash needed, she just followed me, I knew then, I am Stella’s Mama. Today Stella is a mama herself, and we still look at each other with grace and love.  

That’s why you’re here, at a gift shop online named after my girl Stella, because giving Stella a second chance gave me one too. As a woman in my mid 50’s, with health struggles and the loneliest feelings in the world at times, even some days looking in the mirror and not even knowing the woman looking back. It’s real and it’s a struggle. I am fortunate and grateful. I don’t take one sunrise with Stella for granted.  

This gift barn is more than items. It’s a sanctuary where the wounded become whole. It’s covenant, a promise to Stella and myself. It’s a haven for the days I didn’t think I mattered. It’s sacred, not because it’s perfect, but because it’s earned. It’s testament that grace is real and walks on four legs, and the human that saved her still stands tall on her own two feet.
